He attends endurance sports seminars and conferences on a regular basis and is a member of Triathlon Business International (TBI). He uses his technical knowledge of swim, bike and run in combination with his passion for sports to provide athletes with custom detailed training plans utilizing Training Peaks® scheduling software. Ed desires to nurture the soul, do no harm and position athletes to perform to their maximum potential on race day. Ed has coached athletes ranging in age from eight to 82. JachinBoazTri prides itself on crafting custom designed workouts based on testing metrics to establish performance zones for each workout. Critical Swim Speed (CSS) is used to establish a projected race speed per 100 yards swam. Testing for cycling results in the establishment of a metric called FTP, or functional threshold of power. FTP is used in cycling workouts to establish load/exertion and duration. FTP is then converted to watts/kg. for use in gauging improvement over time. Running metrics are typically based on race distances and workouts utilizing quarter-mile, half-mile and one-mile repeats to establish run zones and race strategies.
